I stayed with you before with a couple of other chaps from Sidmouth Camera Club. If you remember we left some cameras behind so thanks for looking after them. Hi David, there are a range of celebrations in Dumfries, all within walking distance in and around the town centre, and probably too many to mention! Most hotels and restaurants will cater for visitors and provide a Burn’s supper on the menu, and there will be many ceilidhs, traditional Scottish dancing and poetry recitals.

We are considering visiting Dunfries in January 2011 to celebrate Burns Night on January 25. Could you tell us what celebrations would be going on Jan 25 near your B&B? Would they be within walking distance? Are most of the Burns Nigh celebrations held on the weekend of Jan. 28,29 and 30? Are they nearby your B&B?

Averon House sounds appealing especially with the Scottish breakfast and king sized bed. My wife and I are looking to visit Dumfries and this b&b sounds ideal. Thanks for the info.
